The Thoroughbred is one of the most frequently used outcrosses for Warmblood breeders. They are particularly excellent at improving eventing traits! These horses bring high confidence and speed to the mix, as well as high connection and high impulsion. You may have to sacrifice a bit of bascule, adjustability, collection and relaxation though, but with the right match that can easily be overcome!

Registering a Thoroughbred

In order to be registered as a Thoroughbred, they must have 100% Thoroughbred blood. After they have been riding tested for the Thoroughbred breed, they are able to get approved with up to two Warmblood registries.
