Shows are how you can test your horse's performance! There are three types of Shows: Jumping, Dressage and Eventing. Shows run every 2 hours, and a schedule can be found by clicking on the date/time on the website banner.
Show Creation
Each level of competition has a set panel of training tasks that can be asked during that competition. You can find these tasks on the level's page on the Wiki. When shows are made, all of the classes are procedurally generated, which means that the game randomly picks a series of tasks, which makes every class unique!
Classes are grouped into Divisions, and there are 3 classes per Division. When you enter your horse into a show, your horse enters all 3 classes in that Division.
Scoring
Each training task that could appear in a class has 1-2 stats associated with it, that are assessed when determining how well your horse completed that task. This is where the bulk of the scoring comes from. Therefore, you can maximize your horse's score by increasing its stats that are relevant to your sport! The scoring is based on current stat level, not the stat maximum.
You also want to make sure that your horse is trained in all of the training tasks for the level you decide to enter. If a horse doesn't know how to perform a skill at the show, they will get a very bad score for that item.
You should also make sure your horses are fed, have had a checkup at the vet, and have been trimmed by the farrier by the time the show runs, otherwise they won't perform very well.
Horses do not get a significant bonus for being "overlevelled" or "overstatted" when entering a show. For example, entering your perfect 30 across the board jumping horse (who should be in the 1.60m!) into a 0.90m class will not make your horse significantly more likely to win. You will get the best results by entering your horses into the level that is appropriate for them, as well as it is just a nice thing to do!
Points Distribution
Points are given to horses based on their rank in the overall Division. Only the horse that ranks first (Champion) receives points. These points contribute to the stallion Overall Rank in their registry, as well as the horse's position on the leaderboard! Currently the points distributions are as follows:
- Introductory/0.80m/Starter: 2 points
- Training/0.90m/Pre-Entry: 4 points
- First/1.00m/Entry: 6 points
- Second/1.10m/Pre-Training: 8 points
- Third/1.20m/Training: 10 points
- Fourth/1.30m/Preliminary: 12 points
- PSG/1.40m/Intermediate: 14 points
- Intermediate/1.50m/Advanced: 16 points
- Grand Prix/1.60m/Four Star: 20 points
Injuries
Whenever you go to a show, there is a small chance your horse will get injured. Most injuries are relatively minor, but it is still not a desirable outcome! Horses that are unsound will get injured every time they enter a show, which indicates that it might be time to retire them to breeding or to the Greener Pastures.
