Your horse's Soundness tells you how much time they have left to compete. Horses that become unsound will get injured every time they enter a show, so it's important to keep an eye on!
Soundness decreases every time you enter a show, so if you want your horse to last a very long time as a competitor, be conscious of how many shows you enter them in!
Checking Soundness
You can check your horse's soundness by taking them to the Veterinarian. The veterinarian will give you an assessment of your horse to let you know how many more shows you can expect.
It is recommended that you check your horse's soundness at least once per year! Once you see the assessment that your horse has less than one year of showing left, you may want to check more frequently to hopefully prevent an injury.
Genetic Component
The game's hidden Soundness gene determines how long your horse will be sound for. You can improve future foals' soundness by pairing horses who had long show careers together!
