Young Horse competitions are where you can take your 4-8 year old horses to show off their progress! These shows are set up to be more forgiving for the youngsters, especially if they haven't completed all of the relevant training for the level. The shows also have a lower stat requirement for each task. Otherwise, these competitions run similar to the regular competitions.

The Young horse program is designed to be an accelerated program, where horses will have to maintain a 2x per month training schedule. Horses that do not keep up with the schedule by getting three wins in their previous year will have to return to traditional competitions and likely drop back a level or two to be competitive.

4 Year Olds

4 year olds compete in the lowest level of each discipline, with the stat level set to 2, rather than 4:

• 0.80m Jumping
• Starter Eventing
• Poles and Crosspoles Hunter

5 Year Olds

5 year olds compete in the third level of each discipline, with the stat level set to 6, rather than 10:

• First Level Dressage
• 1.00m Jumping
• Entry Eventing
• Pre-Green Hunter

6 Year Olds

6 year olds compete in the fifth level of each discipline, with the stat level set to 10, rather than 17:

• Third Level Dressage
• 1.20m Jumping
• Training Eventing
• Low Hunter

7/8 Year Olds

7 and 8 year olds compete in the seventh level of each discipline, with the stat level set to 12, rather than 24:

• Prix-St-Georges Dressage
• 1.40m Jumping
• Intermediate Eventing
• Regular Hunter
